Office Hours — 11 May 2012

Good Morning, All – MOSES office hours are scheduled for 3PM EST this Friday at sim STTC_0037 in the FCVW presentation area in the north
NOTES:
1) Federal Consortium for Virtual Worlds is next week! I’m very excited to see my friends again at the gathering in DC. The URL to the conference is: http://www.ndu.edu/iCollege/fcvw/ MOSES has a number of representatives at the conference this year with a workshop, a panel, and a number of accepted poster sessions. Thank you all for your hard work and participation in this experiment.
2) We are migrating the servers to Open Simulator v0.7.3.1 this week. So far the OAR regions and the Welcome Center are upgraded. They are testing well and I see better sim boundary crossings.
3) MOSES has entered the IACORA (Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation) process with the Product Integration Test Team through ARL. The project has been assigned a case manager, who happens to be onsite at the STTC this week with the security audit team. I look forward to discussing the EDGE and MOSES project with them and moving forward with the DIACAP process. SHORT VERSION: we have made DIACAP progress.

MOSES Mailing List Changes & Office Hours

All new registrations for a MOSES account will no longer be automatically joined to the mailing list and will be provided with instructions. Instructors, please make note of this and inform your incoming students that institutional and/or university email addresses are preferred.
Joining the new MOSES discussion list is easy: send an email to listserv@mitre.org with “subscribe moses-list” in the body (without the quotes). No subject line is necessary. If you successfully subscribed, you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. Feel free to send me (douglas.b.maxwell@us.army.mil) an email if you have any trouble.

Good Morning Everyone, Robert Daniel did a great job moderating Office Hours last week. I appreciate the community stepping up and lending a hand with the MOSES experiment.
Office hours this week will be Friday, 27 April 2012 @ 3PM EST on Sim STTC_0038.
AGENDA:
- MOSES Open Sim server updates will be deferred until after May 18th to prevent possible disruption of preparations for the Federal Consortium for Virtual Worlds conference.
- Planned upcoming updates.
- This summer we will concentrate on use cases and I want to put volunteers on the calendar to host office hours at their sims to demonstrate and explain their work to the rest of the community.
